He made her favourite desert pie – Pecan with a thick sugar syrup- and brought it over to her house. Knocking on the door, he waited and listened to an owl hooting somewhere. He tried not to get nervous or to think too much. Finally, the door opened and he handed her the pie. Balling up his hands, so she wouldn’t noticed them shaking, he mumbled through what he had long rehearsed. Though, he was sure he had got some parts wrong and missed out others. Stopping, he drew a deep breath and waited for her reply.
