Before Pie

The dull day matched his mood perfectly. The only thing he could think about was her and what had happened. He had been a zombie in the office, just getting through by the minimal amount. Towards the end of the afternoon, he realised his colleagues had assumed he’d had a great weekend. He couldn’t bear admitting the truth, it still felt so raw. On the way home, he watched the rain falling down the side of the bus and decided he had to do something. He had to show her how much she meant to him.
