Hay fever

Every spring as soon as the grass got cut and the flowers started popping up, my sneezes and watery eyes started. Normally, I’d take some meds and get on with it but this year, my hay fever was worse then ever.

I felt like I had a cold. My nose was blocked and I was sneezing so much whilst my eyes were puffy and always felt like they had something in them. None of my normal things seemed to work, so I went all out on cold and flu things as well. At least they kept some of the symptoms at bay.

The days grew longer, the sun was out more often and spring turned to summer. Still, I was plagued and only cold showers seemed to help. I longed for autumn and winter to come.

Dear Diary

Dear Diary,

My hay fever is so bad! It feels like I’ve got a cold only with the addition of stinging eyes. The tablets don’t seem to be working and of course it’s all easy saying to stay away from flowers and grass but it doesn’t work that way.

I had to phone in work sick again, I just said I had a summer cold, well it’s true enough. I  thought I’d put the time to good use but no, the hay fever won’t let me. If I’m not sneezing I’m coughing or my eyes are watering or my chest hurts to much.

So it’s curling on the sofa, watching daytime TV and feeling sorry for myself. Maybe eating ice cream for my now sore throat.

Summer Cold

Teddy, Teddy Bear, Association, Ill

She had been believing that it was hay fever over the last few days.

Awaking, she felt worse and realized it was a mild cold.

Sighing, she decided to spend the day in bed, hoping it would go away with rest.
